- Although the chain drive operators are the most reliable, they are noisier by nature...lots of metal moving against metal.
- A belt or screw drive operator are the quietest of the choices. Both are still reliable choices, but may be a little pricier.
HOW CAN I MAKE THE OPERATOR I HAVE QUIETER?
- First off, if you have a chain drive you may want to consider having that changed out for a belt or screw drive operator.
- Secondly, if you have steel rollers consider having those replaced with new nylon rollers.
- Thirdly, if you have extension springs consider upgrading to a safer less noisy torsion spring system.
- Fourthly, lubricate all moving parts with 3-IN-ONE Garage Door lubricant.
- Fifthly, tighten all loose nuts and screws.
- Furthermore, adding insulation to the back of the doors can reduce the noise from metal doors
